Post-16 & University Student Support
Specialist Support for Neurodiverse Students in College and Higher Education
Whether you're starting your A-Levels, preparing to leave home for university, or still deciding what your next steps should be, the transition into further or higher education can feel like a lot—especially if you’re neurodiverse.
At Towers Coaching, we offer structured, specialist support for both post-16 and university students, tailored to meet the unique needs of neurodiverse individuals, including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or other learning differences. Our goal is to help you gain the confidence, tools, and routines needed to succeed both academically and personally.
Tailored Coaching for Neurodiverse Students
Being neurodiverse in an education system that wasn’t built with your brain in mind can be exhausting. From sensory overload in busy classrooms to the executive function demands of keeping up with coursework and deadlines, the pressure to ‘just get on with it’ can quickly lead to overwhelm and burnout.
That’s where we come in.
Our 1:1 coaching provides personalised, practical support to help students build structure, develop independence, and grow in confidence at every stage—from sixth form and college to university and beyond.
What We Offer
Pre-University & Post-16 Pathway Guidance
Not sure if university is right for you? Thinking about alternatives to A-Levels or higher education?
We help students explore their options—including sixth form, college, apprenticeships, gap years, and university—so they can make informed decisions that align with their goals, strengths, and learning needs.
upport with Transitions & Independence
Starting college or moving to university brings a huge shift in responsibility and routine. We work with students to:
Establish daily routines
Learn self-management skills
Adjust to new learning environments
Navigate the social and emotional challenges of independence
Executive Function & Study Skills Coaching
Neurodiverse students often face challenges with time management, organisation, focus, and task initiation. We help by teaching:
Time-blocking and planning strategies
Prioritisation techniques
Study methods suited to individual learning styles
How to stay on track without feeling overwhelmed
Accessing Support & Advocacy
Understanding what support you're entitled to can be difficult to navigate.
For college and sixth form students, we can help identify what reasonable adjustments may be available and how to communicate your needs with confidence.
For university students, we provide guidance on applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) and working with university support services to access accommodations such as extra time, quiet spaces, or mentoring.
As a qualified non-medical helper (NMH), I also provide Specialist Mentoring to eligible students under DSA.
Confidence Building & Emotional Support
Our coaching offers a safe, supportive space to talk through anxieties, fears, or frustrations. Whether it's preparing for exams, coping with social situations, or managing low mood, we help students:
Build emotional resilience
Understand and regulate their responses
Reframe unhelpful thought patterns
Boost confidence in their ability to manage life and learning
Parental Support
Parents and carers play a huge role in supporting students during these transitions—but it can be hard to know how to help without stepping in too much.
We offer supportive guidance to parents of post-16 and university students, helping you:
Understand how to encourage independence
Advocate for your child’s needs with educational settings
Reduce anxiety during key transitions
Maintain a supportive, respectful relationship with your child as they grow
